 Anxiety disorders are a cluster of mental disorders characterized by significant and uncontrollable feelings of anxiety and fear such that a person's social, occupational, and personal function are significantly impaired. Anxiety also refers to anticipation of a future concern and is more associated with muscle tension and avoidance behaviour. It can be a normal reaction to stress. For example, you might feel anxious when faced with a difficult problem at work, before taking a test, or before making an important decision. According to the World Health Organisation, 3.6 percent — or about 264 million individuals worldwide — have an anxiety disorder.
